About Crotone.com

An independent guide to a corner of Calabria that deserves more visitors.

Crotone.com exists for a simple reason: one of the most historic cities of the Greek world, and the coast and mountains around it, are barely covered in the guidebooks. We set out to write the guide we wished we had found.

What we do

We research and write practical, honest travel information about Crotone and its province: what is worth seeing, how to get there, when to go, what it costs and where to stay. We write for independent travellers, and we try to say plainly when something is closed, awkward to reach or not worth the detour.

How we work

  • Accuracy first. We check facts against official and local sources, and where opening hours, prices or timetables are liable to change we say so rather than guess.
  • Real products only. Every tour we list exists and can be booked. The choice of online-bookable tours in this area is small, and we tell you that openly.
  • Independence. No operator, hotel or tourist board pays to be included or ranked.
  • Six languages. The site is published in English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Dutch.

How the site is funded

Crotone.com is free to use and carries no advertising. It is funded by affiliate commissions: if you book a tour through GetYourGuide or a hotel through Trip.com after following one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The details are in our affiliate disclosure.

Plan your days in Crotone

A Greek column at sunrise, a sea fortress by sunset

Crotone’s sights are spread along sixty kilometres of coast and up into the Sila. A guided day links Capo Colonna, Santa Severina and Le Castella without the driving — compare and book in a couple of taps.
